ABOUT JASON

Jason received his Masters in Social Work from the California State University, Fresno and earned his clinical license under supervision as a full-time therapist on the Fresno County Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) team for 2 years. During that time, he was intensively trained in DBT by Behavioral Tech, LLC, and has been a Linehan Board of Certification (LBC) DBT certified clinician since 2020. Jason has provided DBT, CBT, and mindfulness-based psychotherapy since 2013 and has been in private practice since 2019 in addition to working at Portland DBT Institute as a therapist and trainer.
In graduate school, Jason’s master’s thesis explored mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) for depression among economically disadvantaged older adults, reflecting his longstanding commitment to accessible, compassionate care. As a white, cisgender, heterosexual, middle-class male, Jason is committed to practicing in a culturally humble and anti-oppressive manner. His professional training, range of personal interests (from meditation to drumming), and life experiences with grief and loss inform his down-to-earth, empathic, and growth-oriented style in therapy. Jason is dedicated to helping clients increase self-compassion, develop skillful coping strategies, and navigate life’s challenges with greater ease and resilience.
